If you are local, the first thing we’ll do is get together. I’ll bring my notebook full of ideas for a welcome, ring ceremony, unity candle (if you want one), vows, etc. I’ll leave that notebook with the two of you, to peruse at your leisure and choose the specific parts of the ceremony that feel most comfortable to you. Or you can substitute a favorite poem, reading, song lyric, or write your own vows. There are so many possibilities that choosing can be daunting, but I can help you form them into a coherent ceremony, one that uniquely expresses the two of you and acknowledges what you believe is important.
If you are too far away to meet, I can email you my file of wedding choices, and the two of you can decide how you want your ceremony to go.
Once you have made your choices, you’ll send (or give) them back to me, and I’ll put a finished copy of the ceremony together, which I will email to you for your final approval.
Then, on the day of the wedding rehearsal, I will get there early, welcome everyone, run the rehearsal, and get the marriage license from you, which I will fill out before the ceremony.
On your wedding day, I will officiate, make sure the license is signed, and send the copies to the County Clerk, making sure your copy goes into the back of the special wedding binder that contains a copy of your ceremony.
Congratulations!
